Who are we?

We are an empowered and diversified investment holding business, that holds a portfolio of investments across diverse sectors including in the mining, project management and construction and energy sectors. We deliberately adopt a partnership approach when we work with our partners, and do not view ourselves simply as passive providers of capital. We therefore provide strategic input and operational expertise, creating value for all stakeholders. We view the sustainability of our success as being intrinsically linked to the prosperity of the partners and communities in which we operate and the responsibility to make a measurable contribution to create a more inclusive economy not only in South Africa but across the African continent.

The Founder

Phepheng Investment Holdings (PIH), which has its roots in the Northern Cape, was founded by Kagiso Koikanyang in 2007. Kagiso is an electrical engineer. Prior to founding PIH, Kagiso gained substantial expertise and experience in all aspects of project delivery within the mining, energy, electrical power systems and construction sectors when he was employed in various roles and capacities within the private sector. He also has significant expertise in project management.

Kagiso provides strategic leadership to PIH by leveraging his experience and value-added expertise, thereby making PIH a sustainable and trusted partner through forging strong long-term alliances with founders, management teams and co-investors to drive strategic and operational excellence, and ultimately to create tangible value for all stakeholders.
